Coventry 2027 Teacher of the Year
Coventry Public Schools proudly announced at its August 24 Welcome Back Convocation Event that Coventry Grammar School Grade 2 Teacher Angela Puccia has been named the 2027 Coventry Teacher of the Year. Ms. Puccia was selected through a district-wide application and interview process and recognized for her student-centered approach, instructional excellence, collaborative leadership, and commitment to students and colleagues. Other finalists included Mikayla LeBlanc, G.H. Robertson School Grade 4 Teacher; Julie Lee, Capt. Nathan Hale School Special Education Teacher; and Jen Faenza, Coventry High School Math Teacher. Ms. Puccia will represent Coventry in Connecticut's Teacher of the Year program.
Superintendent's Open Door Meetings 2026-27

Welcome to the first edition of Coventry Spotlight in its new format! We hope you enjoy this updated look at news and highlights from across our schools. Hale Early Education Center (HEEC)
Beginning this school year, HEEC will extend preschool After Care hours until 5:00 p.m. Expanded care during vacation weeks and professional development days is also being explored. Financial assistance is available for eligible families. For further information, please contact 860-742-4550.
Coventry Grammar School (CGS) & G.H. Robertson School (GHR)
CGS and GHR teamed up with DATTCO School Bus to help K-5 students have a peaceful and positive ride to and from school! Through interactive lessons delivered on the actual school bus, students learned expected behaviors to become safe, responsible, and respectful bus riders. Together, the two schools set clear expectations to ensure a safe, positive journey for everyone, every single day.
Capt. Nathan Hale School (CNH)
Grade six students recently participated in a virtual author visit with Nora Baskin, author of Nine, Ten: A September 11 Story, which connects with the Refugee unit they are studying in English Language Arts. Students had the opportunity to ask questions and thoroughly enjoyed this engaging experience.
Coventry High School (CHS)
Each year, U.S. News & World Report ranks America’s best high schools. In 2026, CHS ranked #31 in Connecticut, #1 in its District Reference Group, and in the top 5.4% of public high schools nationally, earning an overall score of 91.79 out of 100.
